Self-denial is an important quality of a mature student. The word “Self-denial” means restraining being strict with oneself. Sometimes, people define it as self-discipline which has a bias passive meaning. Self-denial is not making a lot of rules and regulations to layer upon layer to manacle oneself, but with the autonomic action to create an order for our study life. We always have great dreams, have magnificent ideals and have grand prospects; however, they are often postponed or even vanished by ourselves due to the lack of self-denial. We should put our ideas into practice. Besides, self-denial also means denying yourself and controlling your impulses. Nobody is perfect. Faced with mistakes, we should take measures to modify it and never behave impulsively.
Determination is another characteristic of a mature student .What we define determination is to take up your mind to act decidedly and take the consequences. Determination not only means decision but also practice. In China, there is a famous fable “the foolish old man removed the mountains”, which presents spirits of firm determination and perseverance. No good is ever done by hesitation in the world. It is known that Buffet, every time his investment will get a huge return, because he is well prepared in advance and determined what makes his pay shall be multiplied.
Although self-denial and determination are both vital, probably the most important measure of maturity is dependability. When we talk about a person who is dependable means he is worthy of reliance or trusts .If you are committed to transmit some secret documents to a company, you must be required dependable. Sometimes dependability refers to responsibility. Judging a person whether he is mature or not, responsibility is the key factor, because only the person with responsibility is worthy of being depended on.
In addition, maturity is also shown in other respects: emotional control ability, the height of the thought, and comprehensive thinking.
In conclusion, if a student who owns the qualities of self-denial, determination and dependability, he can say that he is a mature student with pride; otherwise he can’t. If you really can develop the three qualities, you really comprehend the meaning of maturity. The road to the maturity is like the road to the peak. We did something wrong and, soon, were punished. We faced difficulties and conquered them. We succeeded in stepping on the top and enjoyed it.

I am living in Spain, Bullfighting is the most traditional of Spanish Fiestas. The Spanish people consider this art forms which are intimately linked with their country’s history, art and culture.  Pressure groups attempt to lobby against bullfighting yet the King of Spain himself has allegedly stated that the day the EU bans bullfighting is the day Spain leaves the EU.

Bullfighting can be traced back to ancient days. This art popular spectacles in ancient Rome, but it was in the Iberian Peninsula that these contests were fully developed by the Moors from North Africa who overran Andalucia in AD 711. Bullfighting developed into a ritualistic occasion observed in connection with feast days, on which the conquering Moors, mounted on highly trained horses, confronted and killed the bulls.

Romero’s grandson, Pedro Romero, developed all the passes and moves which to this day are seen at a bullfight. He retired in his eighties after killing more than 5,600 bulls without ever being hurt. Thus Ronda is considered the home of bullfighting.

Bullfighting season in the Spain is March to October. In bullfighting season, there are two games will be held every Thursday and Sunday. If it is in the festival and National Day, people can watch it every day.

You can visit the bullring in Ronda which houses a small bullfighting museum. The bullfighting season in Ronda is from April to October though fights are quite infrequent. Check with the tourist office next to the bullring.

Italian will not feel pleasant if you equate gelato with ice cream. As a featuring food in Italy, it is different from ice cream. Ice cream can be classified into three kinds by fat content and sweetness: ice cream, gelato and sorbet. Ice cream is an American style with higher fat and sugars while sorbet contents none fat and lowest sugars, gelato makes a balance between the other two.

If you compared gelato with ice cream, you will find the former is more natural and healthier . More sugars and cream are added into ice cream to make it tastes sweet, creamy and softy. The ingredients of gelato are eggs, milk, sugar, as well as fresh fruits and nuts, handcraft makers try their best to keep the quintessence of fruits. The sweetness you taste is from the fruit itself instead of extract of fruit. Image if gelato is growing out like a plant,you will find the taste of it should be like this.

Differ from the ice cream produced on flow lines, gelato is made by handcraft maker. Every handcraft maker inherits the traditional family workshop and the skill of making gelato from father and grandfather. Every 5000 people own a gelateria (gelato workshop in Italian), you can find a gelateria that has a history of a hundred years in a corner of city. If you go to the bookstore, you will find thousands of books sitting on the bookshelf. You look at them, but don’t know which one to choose. It’s hard to tell a book is good or not just through its name. I’ll share some experience about how to select a good book with you.

When I was in primary school and junior school, our teacher would give us a list of classic books and suggested us to buy one or two. I really don’t like to read classic books at that time. They are old, boring and hard to realize. But why are they been recommended by so many people if they are worthless. You can’t deny that those classic books have stood the test of time. If you really have trouble in reading classic books, maybe you can wait. I remember a scholar once said that he didn’t like reading Analects of Confucius when he was young, but he finally accepted it in his middle age.

I don’t like reading books when I was a little girl. I began to love reading books after I read a book written by Yingtai Long. Then I bought all her books to read. What I want to say is when you are attracted by a book, it’s a good idea to buy the author’s other books. You will not only read her or his other good work, but also know more about the author’s style of writing. If a writer wrote an excellent book, then her or his other books won’t be very bad in general. I used this method to select books, and it worked every time.

In order to sell more books, sometimes the publisher will put advertising slogans on the cover of the book. It is not wise to believe the slogans entirely, sometimes they are exaggerated. So who will give you a honest review of a book, I think is our teacher and other readers who have read the book. Moreover, sometimes your favorite writer would quote sentences or stories from other books. I suggest you to read those books, because that means as your favorite writer seems highly of those books, those books are worth reading.

I once watched a TV program about reading books. Some people recommended the books they read. I remember there was a reading club, members of the club gathered once a week to share feelings of the book. If there is a reading club around you, try to join it. You will make friends with people who have the same hobby with you, and you will be able to select a proper book after the gathering.

Sometimes, you don’t know a writer until he or she win a prize in literature. I didn’t know Mo Yan before, but after he won the 2012 Nobel Prize in Literature, I bought all his novels. After I read his work, I finally realized that he deserved it. So if you have trouble in choosing books, it’s a good idea to read a prize-winning work sometimes.

With the development of the Internet, there are different kinds of websites provide help for different people. Goodreads is a website created for people who love reading books. Thousands of books are listed on the website. Once you click the cover page of the book, you will see a brief introduction of the book. And there are lots of comments written by other readers below to help you decide whether the book is worth reading or not. What’s more, there are some tips which make Goodreads cleverer.

First, you can add friends to see their latest reads. Reading is more fun when shared. Second, you can rate books you’ve read to get recommendations. Rate 20 books and Goodreads will learn your tastes. Third, you will be able to find and add books to your shelves. Search by title, author, ISBN, or list.

In a word, although there are millions of books in the world, you will always find the proper one for yourself as long as you try to. I think reading books is very important in my life. A good book is just like a teacher who can impart me knowledge. I have used the methods above to select myself proper books, I hope my methods can help you too.

Sunny days have always been excellent days for traveling. When sunshine falls on your face, you smell the air as sweet and it brings you good mood. It was exactly such a lovely day that I went to Nanjing.

I went to the Office of the Present, Xianfeng Bookstore and Nanking Massacre Memorial Hall, seeing the famous places that everyone knows. But I was so tired of being surrounded by people. Moreover, beautiful sites full of people made me sick! So I visited some other places that were leisure and made me felt good.

Fancy a sup of tea? Enjoy a cup of Longjin tea by Xihu is fantastic for tea-lovers, isn’t it? How about having a cup of British tea in an old city like Nanjing? Nanjing combines not only ancient and modern culture, but also national and international factors. A British tea house called Annvita lays in Zhongshan Road No.100, Qinhuai district. After having several busy days in study and work, come to Annvita and have a cup of rose tea with your friends, chatting and laughing…How relaxing it is! Look at the picture below, flowers are blooming on the teapot and cups, the beauty of them brings more relaxation to your heart. It was a great experience walking under phoenix trees. Finding a quiet place to wander around in such a short break wasn’t easy. Everywhere was crowded. Phoenix trees have been thought to be the courtyard ornamental plants since ancient days. And nowadays they are always used to green the roads. They bloom in April. According to legend, phoenix trees can sense the leap year: they grow 12 leaves on each branch in common years, but 13 leaves on each branch in leap years. The restaurant was set up in 1994, and it has never changed its menu since then. Its decoration is like old inn, it’s so “Nanjing”. You feel as if you had come back to ancient days sitting inside. There I tasted Slice lotus, it was sweet. As a Cantonese, I like sweet food so it just suited my taste!

Furthermore, wandering around university in Nanjing is a good choice, I think. Even the schools are full of ancient breath. Take the picture on the left for example. It’s a building of Nanjing University. It’s an old school and it has fostered many intellectuals. Chinese brick houses are seen everywhere in the university.
