Ballet art was originated in Italy, and was born in late 17th century in French court. In the 18th century, it was completed in France. And by the end of the 19th century, it entered its’ golden times in Russia.

King Louis XIV love ballet. In 1661, he founded the Royal Academy of Dance – the first college of ballet in the ballet history. He started to organize the research of the dance training systematically. And some standards of ballet dancing were established at that time and are still used today.
When it comes to Russia, people will always think of <War and Peace>, <Anna Karenina>, and think of Tchaikovsky and his artworks like <Swan Lake>, <Moscow Nights> and so on. After being familiar with this piece of land, you will be able to find out why there are so many great works grew from this land, as Russian is such a nation that has a special artistic talent, and has the ability to appreciate the art works.
In many Russian’s eyes, watching ballet performance is a divine thing that should be given enough respect. Women tend to prepare the clothes and haircut many days before the performance. Men also need to wear a suit and a tie, if they were lucky enough to watch a famous show. If a woman has watched a very good show, that show may become a topic she would frequently mention about during the rest of her life.
We are usually influenced by the quiet and solemn atmosphere in the theater, and that atmosphere always makes us feel like we are waiting for a coming moment of an important historical affair. Quietly looking forward to the start of the performance, we see the stage curtain is opened, accompanied by the applause from the audience. During the performance, the ballet is exquisite and beautiful while the applause is warm and full of respect.
Skilled actors used their beautiful body language to tell us the story we already know. Our heart across the national border, and enjoy such a marvelous art purely.
The continuous applause after the performance is out of expects. The leading dancers, supporting dancers, staffs and music players come to the stage together for the curtain call. After the entire performance, the applause still last, thus all the crew had to come to stage again and response to the curtain call in various ways. This long curtain call is just like another performance.
That may let us sigh: “What a great art!”
