Roskilde Festival is the largest music festival in Northern Europe-a unique and all-encompassing experience ,where music, events, food and activities form a unity with the intense sense of community among the “Orange feeling”.

The camping sites always open the Saturday before the festival. In 2014 it’ll be 28 June. Thursday 3 July 2014 the gates to the main festival area will open, and an extensive four-day music programme will rock the grounds until 6 July 2014. Each year, nearly 200 bands and solo artists play on eight stages during the eight days. In 2013, Rihanna, Kraftwerk , Metallica, The National, Queens of the Stone Age, Sigur Ros, Slipknot and Volbeat as well as a bunch of other international artists visted Roskilde Festival.

Roskilde has taken a consicious step at taking festival food to a new level, and their food policy is clear: Both the organic and the sustainable are two important factors- for the festival as such, but also when it comes to the gastronomic scene in Copenhagen where the Nordivc kitchen, with its focus on local organic ingredients, has risen to world fame in recent years.

The fashion at Roskilde Festival is as diverse as the festival itself. Many people dress in a fashion way. You can see many fantastic dress here.
Roskilde Festival supports the local culture, including Gimle, which is Roskildes regional music venue, student and youth cultural center. The venue has existed since 1988 and offers a wide range of cultural events with focus on quality and diversity.

Gimle is an independent institution run by two organizational units: The Association Gimle and The Foundation Gimle. Roskilde Festival participated in the formation of The Foundation Gimle and has one representative in the board.

The venue is run by a small staff of employees and over 100 volunteers who manage concerts and events. Many volunteers are also engaged in voluntary work for Roskilde Festival.

Roskilde is located just 35 km from Copenhagen. It’s easy to get here. You can jump on the train which stops at the festival’s very own train station. Roskilde Festival recommends everybody to use public transportation.
