Someone used to ask me a question: what is your youth? I thought for a long time, but i knew i wouldn’t find the right adjective to describe such an abstract word. Every one is special, so i believe, everyone’s youth is the one and only.

After the college entrance examination, my friends together with me watched a film named<So Young>. It tells a story about a group of teenagers with youth, love and friendship.The protagonist in the movie as if is a true portrayal of our own. With their yearning for University and the desire of youth, they come into university—-a wonderful stage of life.

Q: What story does the <So Young> tell?

In this movie, actress is a beautiful and energetic girl named ZhengWei, she comes to the school with the vision of the university, then she meets a lot of friends, three of the most important are RuanGuan, a gentle and considerate girl; ChenXiaozheng, an ideal and ambitious boy; LinJing, a bear and tough boy. Zheng and Chen is a pair of quarrelsome lovers, in times of struggle, they gradually fall in love and finally fall in love with each other. But in addition to Ruan, very few people know, Zheng used to love another boy, it is Lin. Lin has been in love with Zheng, but because of various reasons, he can only hide her, silently watching her behind her back. If most of the youth is the warm and sunshine, there are always some people, their youth is burdened with too many wounds and secrets, becomes dark and could. Lin is the person like this.Looking at their sweet love, he desn’t want to give up on this.What will he do? Q: What happiness and sorrows the <So Young> can bring to audience? 

Everyone is a wonderful movie, everyday is a new story. The film<So Young> ends up with an open ending because it focuses on youth of characters. The characters of film is like ourselves, from this film, i see my own youth. I also have a group of friends throughout my whole youth, we share our successes and failures, our youths become colorful because of the company. When i watch this film,i feel like myself travel with my friends. Nowadays, after i entered the university, i look back on my youth, different kinds of experiences in sight. This movie brings me happinesses and sorrows. Life is different, different people have different experiences, the sour, sweet, bitter, hot in your lifetime, only people walking on this rood can experience. In any case, although there are a variety of pain and regrets the youth, as long as you work hard towards the future, tomorrow will be more brilliant!

Nowadays, the movies’ markets whether in China or some foreign countries are developing rapidly. The movie industry is getting hot all over the world. However, some Chinese audiences always complain that the movies which made by Chinese teams are not as good as those made by Hollywood’s teams although the comprehensive national strength of China is gradually improving, for example, actor selection, special effects, film promotion and so on, especially in some action movies and fiction films. As far as I am concerned, money, technology, history and so on bring out this situation.

As we all know, Hollywood movie world started in 1911(Maybe American began to make films before 1911) and it got its”Golden Ages”in 1930s. Obviously, the movies which made by Hollywood’s teams are always regarded as the “high quality product” by movie lovers. Although Chinese Started making movies in 1905, but the “Golden Ages”of Chinese movies hasn’t come yet. To be honest, the war, the poverty in the old society made people don’t have the spare energy to care about the development of movies. So, as for history aspect,Chinese movies are worse than Hollywood’s ones.

Money also plays an really important role in the film making. Both China and America are economic heavyweights. However, while making films, Chinese will spend most of the money on the actor’s(eapecially the cheif actor&actress) salary. As a result,the director don’t have much money on film’s making and propaganda. So,most of Chinese movies only released in Chinese mainland. On the contrary, Hollywood’s movie maker will spend most of the money on the movie making and propaganda. Before a Hollywood’s movie release, the director and actors in the movie may will do some propaganda in most continents of America and even go to Europe, Asia, Oceania to propaganda. And these movies may will release all over the world. So, Hollywood’s movies is popular than Chinese ones and Hollywood’s actors are more famous than Chinese actors to the audiences.

As for social aspect, Chinese government have some political limits on film making. Thus, in some ways, it limits Chinese movie makers’ imagination. Sometimes, audiences prefer the movie which break the pattern. On the other hand, the style of Hollywood’s movie making is more free than that in China.In my personal opinion, someting like “attack the president”, “against the government” which always show in Hollywood’s movies will never show in Chinese movies, however these kinds of thrilling scenes always catch the audience’s sights. As for this aspect, I think Chinese directors really miss many chances to make better films.

In addition, technology is also a assignable point. Hollywood’s fiction films really do well in the special effects. But, to be honest, Chinese’s movie technology level is nowhere near the Hollywood’s, Chinese’s special effects look a little fake and unsuitable, so while the audience are watching the film, they can’t really focus on how the story goes, instead, they always complain about the unprofessional scence making.

Compare the Chinese movies with Hollywood’s, we can figure out the weakness of Chinese ones. Only by finding the weakness can we develope the Chinese movie market more effciently. Nowadays, college students(like students in our college) start to make some micro films by themselves, by realize the weakness of Chinese movies, these college students can explore the way to overcome the difficulities so that they can make better movies.

Please remember, the future of Chinese movie belongs to the young, as long as the young explore the “new way”, the Chinese movie market will get better!(of course I hope this article can give the young some inspires and help someday)
