This dude is incredible and I have to say he is almost anti-norm. said by Lei Jun (the CEO of one of the most innovative Tech startups-Xiaomi in China.) after visiting Elon Musk in Silicon Valley.

Not like the expressions used by the comic super hero Iron Man in defining himself as “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”, from the perspective of people who know Elon Musk at the first time, he is nothing but a dreamer.

At the beginning, he was a good boy who lived a conventional life set for the elitist: After graduating from The Wharton School, he went to study in Stanford University in pursuit of his PhD. Then he became a dropout on the second day in Stanford. From that moment, he made plans for three domains he wants to get involved in: the Internet, renewable energy and outer space.

The underlying reason of Elon choosing renewable energy is for combating climate change, so that his concept of SolarCity, which provides solar power system for the US, and his attainment of electric sports car -TeslaModel series are all for such end. In terms of his crazy Mars Colony Project, due to he want us human beings can exist in the universe eternally since ‘Sooner or later, we must expand life beyond this green and blue ball—or go extinct.” by “an engineered virus, inadvertent creation of a micro black hole, catastrophic global warming or some as-yet-unknown technology.”

Nevertheless, one man with three futuristic and so-called unachievable dreams, we have to admit that the words from Lei Jun mentioned above dose have cause.

Everyone was obsessed to talk about the space technology at the beginning of 21st century, but no one can really do it as the restriction of existing technology. However, Elon ignored risks and established SpaceX in 2002, even though he have to lobby to US congressmen for Mars immigration single-handed, even though he invested every penny in his pocket, twice, for saving his company after two unsuccessful launch trials, and he continues taking risks. Now he makes it, his company has a $1.6 billion contrast with NASA and launched 2 rockets named Falcon and 1 spacecraft named Dragon to Space Station.More important, he has rekindled the confidence of the government as well as the public for further space exploration mission. Plus, almost at the same time, Elon Musk became an irreplaceable member of Tesla Motors, which open an utterly new world for electric cars and may change the car-making industry.

But the thing is how can him mange the two companies at the same time? After all he just has 7days a week, so he spends Monday and Thursday at headquarters of SpaceX in LA, Tuesday and Wednesday in Tesla. As for Friday, he makes a round trip to both companies.

Truly, what this man has done and he is doing incarnate the punch lines of the think different ads of Apple: The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do, And they push the human race forward. On the plus side, we have to notice that after all what Elon has accomplished, this hero is merely 41.

The geek , the badass, the entrepreneur, the next who? NO, Elon Musk is the first Elon Musk.

The kite, which has over 1000years old, is more and more popular right now around the world. Kiting is already not only for fun, but also could prevent some neck disease happening especially to those people sitting in from the computers all the day. Fly a kite, you need running, heading, One more important thing is you need some skills, especially to the new players.

On a sunny weekend, I cheerfully go to fly a kite with me roommates. We went to a square place and many people already are there, some people are camping, the children are running and laughing, some people are flying their kites. Many colorful kites with lovely images are in the sky. What we flying is a Nemo, very cute fish.

Unfortunately my roommates and I are new players, we tried and tried many time to fly the kite, but we cannot make the kite even over 5meters.Then we need the help, we are so lucky that we got the instruction from a warm heart uncle, he give us some advices which help us a lot.

First of all, the player needs to know the direction and the strength of the wind, this could be defined by watching the flying flag or smoke or you could figure this out by thronging a piece of leaf or a small piece of paper. How to judge the strength of the wind??See how far the leaf flying, LOL.

When you feel the wind is strong enough, you can take the kite run against the wind direction, loose the kite line when you think the kite will hold in the sky. Loose your line slowly to make the kite clime up in a slow way. During this time, if the wind gets weak, you have to take back the line fast to make the kite continuously climbing up. Certainly when the kite pulls the line harder, you have to loose the line a little bit. So this is a kind of game back and forward, general speaking, the purpose is making the kite staying in the sky stable instead of falling down.

Sometimes the wind gets stronger suddenly, the kite swings in the sky sharply, then the player has to loose the line fast or step forward faster to make the kite stable in the sky. Oppositely, when the wind gets weaker, the player has to take back the line fast or step back faster.

In case of two kite lines tangle together, the worst thing is the player takes back the lines which will make the kite loosing balance and fall down immediately, the correct action is : DONNOT PANIC, two players get closer, exchange the positions, loose the line a little bit, the lines will release accordingly.

Finally, when you take the line back, you have to take much care of the tall building or trees, try to stay away from those tall things in order to avoid falling kite hanging on it.

With the instructions, my roommates and I try several times to make the kite flying, in the beginning, it fails because we could not cooperate successfully, but finally we make it! Nemo is flying in the sky! How happy we are when we see the kite climbing! We are trying to make the kite as far as possible till the line ends.

That is really funny for kiting, we are sure this is not the last time we go.

During the MIng Dynasty, there was a Zhang family who owned a pastry store called Tianshun in the town, selling crispy pastries for their living. The storekeeper known that the secret they did excellent business was their special recipe. Just the same as all the other families in old China, only the son and his wife could know what the special recipe is. The little sister, who would be identified as a member of another family when she get married and move in with her future husband, was forbidden to know the recipe. The little inquisitive girl felt really disheartened cause she always wanted to do some help to the family business.

Once, a sudden rain came when the sister-in-law was busy preparing the stuffing, she rushed out to pick up their clothes outside the gate. The little curious girl then secretly sprinkled salt on the stuffing as a mischief out of her years of jealousy . But surprisingly, all the customers came back the next day, praising the yummy taste of yesterday’s crispy pastries. After everyone figured out what was all that about, the father made a decision – impart the special recipe to the little girl and give the yummy crispy pastries a new name called “Gusao pastries”. In later days, the girl and her sister-in-law worked together on making “Gusao pastries”and became really intimated. From then on, both the “Gusao pastries”and the interesting tale became more and more famous in the town. As we could see in this old story, girls always have lovely personalities, no matter in the old days or in nowadays; If you are also interested in this dulcet “Gusao pastries”, here is the link.

The other famous local snack which have a tale with girls is called “Malt Glutinous Rice Cake”. Only when on every year’s Tomb-sweeping Day in Jiangnan Region, women go pick cudweed and malt to make “Malt Glutinous Rice Cake”.

According to legend in waterfront town culture, the glutinous cake which only supplied on time of Qingming, is Chinese Silkworm Flower Goddess’best favor. You can still see adorable girls peddling “Malt Glutinous Rice Cake” on the street during the Qingming Festival, it is the same as the scene of the street once upon centuries ago. The wish in girls’ hearts are all the same – waiting for the Silkworm Flower Goddess! They do believe one of their customers is the goddess! Next time when you are buying “Malt Glutinous Rice Cake”from those adorable girls, make sure you won’t forget to notice whether they are smiling at you or not. Cause if they are really smiling, maybe they believe you are the Silkworm Flower Goddess from the legend! It’s so cool because he has his own pet! Just in the school! I was so excited because that was what I want to do.  I could n0t wait to telling my roommates when I came in the room,but my roommates felt a little hesitation. I felt no strange about it and I knew what they were thinking.  To tell the truth, it’s really a adventure to Chinese student to keep a pet in the room. Finally, we decided to keep a hamster as our first room pet.  It looked like a beautiful quite girl.

The story began when we took her entered the building. I hid her in my big black bag. She was so afraid that she stayed in a corner a and looked dead. I held my breath and said hello to Mrs hua, who is in charged of our building.She smiled! I felt my heart beating and walked straight.  We knew we succeed when we got rid of her eyesight.Now, this small hamster became a member of room 603.  Our life changed a lot since them. Music,computer games,  going shopping and any other interesting things couldn’t attract us any more because of the small evle. She became the centre of our world. I must say that she ate a lot. She seemed to love all kinds of vegetables and fruits. Maybe she ate everything. We shouldn’t feed get too much because an article from the Internet told us that if the hamster grows too fat, it may get a heat stroke in summer and dies.However, my roommates always gave it a lot melon seeds. Although we knew it minght do harm to the hanster, we just couldn’t stop doing it. The elve was so lovely.

At the very beginning, we forgot to gave her water to drink. We didn’t remember it until next day. Tuesday is always a hard time, because there will be someone checking our room. If they looked our pet, we may be published. However, we couldn’t find enough space to put her cage. It was really terrible that time. We must keep our room clean and tidy. At the same time, we had to hid a big cage. So how did we get through that time? I huge the cage and lied on the bed with a quilt covering on my body. It looked like I was sleeping.Finally, they didn’t find our secret. We were so happy and gave her a lot to eat again.  Unluckly, she disappeared two weeks ago. One day I thought that she was so boring to stay in a small cage. We could walk a hamster on the road just like the boy student walk his dog. So I put the hamster in my coat pocket and do downstairs. The sun shone brightly that day. I put the small hamster other grass. It may got frightened in my pocket and ran away fast,hiding itself in the grass. We found that we didn’t even give her a name. We tried to put some fruits on the grass but she didn’t come here. We lose her.

Now we have a empty cage in the room. I think I we won’t forget this small evle . It brought us so many happiness.

Brief introduction

When I Checked the previous photo, i can see a girl was eating the Chicken feet and smiling. Her mouth still covered with brothes. So Hilarious! Yes,that’s me. Maybe it was my first memory about morning tea. As a cantonese, morning tea is not only a diet, moreover it is a special habit for us. Until today,when I go home, my mom will call my aunt and meet together. It is a opportunity to narrow our distance. Sure,to our teenager,we won’t interested in the topic which they talk about,we always taste the delicious food.

Let’s talk about the morning tea. When referring the traditional Canton culture, morning tea culture can not be missed. On the morning of weekends especially some holidays, Cantonese will begin their morning tea activity. Generally, the morning tea will be joined by a whole family or a group of good friends. In Cantonese idea, morning tea is an enjoyable thing which can spend leisure time and relax selves thoroughly.

Thus the name “morning tea”, tea is the necessary part. Morning tea prefers to take the black tea because it functions to warm the stomach and be advantage for digesting. The common tea used in morning tea will be oolong tea, tieguanyin tea, pu ‘er tea. The black tea is in a little bitter taste and not as crystal as the green tea, but it is the golden pair for snacks in morning tea.

Snacks Served in Morning Tea

Actually morning tea refers to dim sum,a Cantonese term referring to small Chinese dishes,accompanied by tea.So having morning tea is also called “eating morning tea”in Guangdong.

There are two kinds of morning tea – the solid ones and the liquid ones. The solid ones can be Chinese dumpling, steamed buns, glutinous food, etc, and the liquid ones can be porridge, guiling jelly, beancurd jelly, etc.

Compared with solid ones and liquid ones, the former ones can be regarded as the highlight of Canton morning tea. For example, the representative – shrimp dumpling (you can find this dish in any restaurant that serves morning tea in Guangdong,and it can be regarded as a simple of authentic Guangdong restraunts). The transparent dumpling wrapper with the shrimp materials inside will bring you a fresh taste. Besides, the egg tart which can be found in some high-end restaurants will let you have an unforgettable feeling when enjoy it.

Origin of morning tea

Morning tea culture now is not only popular in Canton area, but also an oversea trend because of the more and more overseas Chinese. It is easily to find Canton morning tea restaurants in New York or Los Angeles, even in the remote islet in South Pacific Ocean.

When it comes to the source of the Cantonese morning tea,it often dates back to Qing dynasty which can be traced back to more than 150 yeas ago.At that time, there was a simple teashop called “one house”,offering tea and snacks for those seeking refreshment,which had a board with “tea word” on the door. Later on, with the boom of commerce on Guangdong,more and more businessmen needed a place for social activities.Teahouses soon began to emerge and developed gradually into tea restaurants.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Although with the rapid development of the economy in Guangdong Province,this kind of traditional culture was still excellent maintained,and now it becomes a beautiful scenery line and the great symbol in Cantonese leisure life.

End Of The Century

Edvard Munch said:“I want to describe the kind of touched my heart. I do not draw lines and colors I see, but the things I have experienced.”

Firstly, I will introduce Edvard Munch whose deadee is printed on the Norwegian krona. He was a Norwegian Symbolist painter,printmaker whose intensely evocative treatment of psychological themes built upon some of the  main tenets of late 19th-century Symbolism and he greatly influenced German Expressionism in the early 20th-century. Do you know him? If you are unfamiliar with this name, it does not matter. You must hear of The Scream , his best-known composition. The Scream is one of the pieces in a series titled The Frieze of Life, in which Munch explored the themes of life, love, fear, death, and melancholy. Once Munch described his inspiration of the The Scream,he said :“once evening I was walking along a path, the city was on one side and the fjord below. I felt tired and ill. I stopped and looked out over the fjord–the sun was setting, and the clouds turning blood red. I sensed a scream passing through the nature, it seemed to me that I heard the scream.” He suffer a lot when he was young, so his character is despair and anxiety, it is the reason why his works are full of the themes of life, love, fear, death, and melancholy. Art historian called Munch the “end of the century”, because his works reflects the spirit of a whole generation of European in the aspects of their life. No one dared to describe the naked ugliness of the human instinct by making the coexistence of good and evil and beauty and ugliness as him. This is why his deadee can be printed on the Norwegian krona.

The Father Of Painting

Andrea Bain Once commented:＂Frankly,Caravaggio’s work marked the beginning painting.＂

The next great painter is Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggiot know who he is. But if you have ever traveled to Italy, you might see him on the coin. He is a famous Italy painter from the early 16th century to the 17th century. His artistic career began after all masters of the Italian Renaissance had dead. He is a distinguished Italian realist painter. He studied in Milan to study painting from painter Virtue Bolzano. He inherited the tradition of realism, folk painting, and influenced by the Venetian school in the northern Italy. Between 1593 and 1610, he was active in Rome, Naples, Malta, and Sicily. Caravaggio was known for realistically capturing moments of human emotion and painting the drama of psychological relationships. He broke the conventional styles of depicting the saints and used ordinary people as models, painting them with realistic detail showing the Saints’ common humanity. Though he was highly esteemed by other artists of his time, his deviation from the idealized styles of 16th century Mannerism brought up much public criticism. s technique and use of tenebrism influenced the development of the Baroque school of art as well as the paintings of many artists including Rubens, Rembrandt, and Velazquez.

His works includes The Calling of St. Matthew, The Conversion of St. Paul, The Supper at Emmaus and so on. In 1920s, painting critic Roberot Lungi once again brought his name to the public eye. Lungi said:＂If there is no him, nor is Ribera, Vermeer, La Tours and Rembrandt. Without him, Delacroix would entirely be another way to depict Courbet and horses＂. In Many large art museums, a few room hung with his works with dramatic lighting, ordinary models, faithfully depict nature. Many famous painters inherited the style of Caravaggio.

Now, I believe that many of you know why he can be printed on the Italy coins. Both of them are great and valuable deadee. They keep us living, not only in substance, but also in spirit.
