When most people think of The Netherlands, they think of Amsterdam with it’s famous red lights
and  coffeeshops.  And maybe tulips too. but there is much more to the country than these three things. the Netherlands is country filled with historic cities, canals, beautiful farmland, windmills, and pleasant beaches.

Most travelers come to Netherlands and simply party in Amsterdam for a few days but by doing so they miss what much of the country has to offer. Spend time exploring more than just Amsterdam and coffeeshops and you’ll discover the country are beautiful than you think. I highly recommend heading north, especially in April/May when the tulips are in bloom, and also visiting Utrecht, one of my favorite cities south of Amsterdam.
Utrecht is like a mini-Amsterdam but lacks the crowds of Amsterdam. The old city is centered around an old church, the Dom.

The main area of town is centered near the Oudegracht, or “old canal”. it’s the main canal in town and along it are shops and a plethora of restaurants. The restaurants are located on a level below the street alongside the canals.

on the nice weather day ,the city is packed and all the tables along the canal were taken. After some walking, you can enjoyed some outdoor drinking by the canal, soaking up the sun with all the Dutch, who apparently don’t need to work on a Friday.
Overall, Utrecht is a nice city and a good, relaxing alternative to Amsterdam.

On a sunny weekend, I cheerfully go to fly a kite with me roommates. We went to a square place and many people already are there, some people are camping, the children are running and laughing, some people are flying their kites. Many colorful kites with lovely images are in the sky. What we flying is a Nemo, very cute fish.

Unfortunately my roommates and I are new players, we tried and tried many time to fly the kite, but we cannot make the kite even over 5meters.Then we need the help, we are so lucky that we got the instruction from a warm heart uncle, he give us some advices which help us a lot.

First of all, the player needs to know the direction and the strength of the wind, this could be defined by watching the flying flag or smoke or you could figure this out by thronging a piece of leaf or a small piece of paper. How to judge the strength of the wind??See how far the leaf flying, LOL.

When you feel the wind is strong enough, you can take the kite run against the wind direction, loose the kite line when you think the kite will hold in the sky. Loose your line slowly to make the kite clime up in a slow way. During this time, if the wind gets weak, you have to take back the line fast to make the kite continuously climbing up. Certainly when the kite pulls the line harder, you have to loose the line a little bit. So this is a kind of game back and forward, general speaking, the purpose is making the kite staying in the sky stable instead of falling down.

Sometimes the wind gets stronger suddenly, the kite swings in the sky sharply, then the player has to loose the line fast or step forward faster to make the kite stable in the sky. Oppositely, when the wind gets weaker, the player has to take back the line fast or step back faster.

In case of two kite lines tangle together, the worst thing is the player takes back the lines which will make the kite loosing balance and fall down immediately, the correct action is : DONNOT PANIC, two players get closer, exchange the positions, loose the line a little bit, the lines will release accordingly.

Finally, when you take the line back, you have to take much care of the tall building or trees, try to stay away from those tall things in order to avoid falling kite hanging on it.

With the instructions, my roommates and I try several times to make the kite flying, in the beginning, it fails because we could not cooperate successfully, but finally we make it! Nemo is flying in the sky! How happy we are when we see the kite climbing! We are trying to make the kite as far as possible till the line ends.

That is really funny for kiting, we are sure this is not the last time we go.

 Jeju Island is the largest island in Korea, it is also called Tamna Island, honeymoon island and romantic island. Do you know the reason that I say it is mysterious?  Because it is of volcanic origin. Is it amazing? For this factor, it has very strange landform.Besides, the climate here is so warm that it is called “Korean Hawaii”.

It is said that Jeju Island is the myth of the island. Centuries ago, There are three immortal, they encountered the three princesses, who took a wooden boat from the East China Sea. They carried with cattle and corn seeds. Then three immortal married the three the princess. Afterwards, they built the village and began the long life. The famous scenic spots in Jeju “three surname hole” is about this myth of historical relics.  How fantasy it is !

Naturally, as a tourist spot, even it is a place where TV dramas are shot, travelers must be concerned about its beautiful scenery. Introductions are as follows.

Stepping out into Zhuyu Bay Scenic Area, a cute squirrel will come to great guests so that they can eat their favorite pine cones and then jump up and down in the pine trees. I smell a floral perfume sweeping on the river, so I sit down in the bridgehead, listening to songs and admiring lotus. Suddenly, a girl rowing and picking lotus appears, with a bamboo pole, she wears a bamboo hat and shuttles on the river slowly. It looks like a natural painting. She invites me to her boat passionately. Truth are always hidden in folk. I learn many trivias from her, everyone knows fried lotus root is delicious, but lotus nuts can be used in many ways. On one hand, it can be cooked in the Eight-Treasure Porridge, this is a tradional food in China, but a little bit different from Yangzhou. On the other hand,using some of them to make tea is a good recipe for cancer prevention even though it tastes bitter. The sun goes down and it’s time for me to say goodbye to the lovely city.

In this summer holiday,  I was broken-hearted,  my boyfriend and I have broke up for three years. My mood is very bad, my friends advised me to travel to mellow. So I’m going to take this vacation out.
Seasons are all very warm and there are a lot of tropical fruit , a beautiful sea and a beach. The place of the spring,  summer,  autumn and winter are very hot. It is the part of the ends of the earth,  the temperature is 32 degrees in a suburb of Sanya ultima town,   about 24 km away  from Sanya city. Monkeys in Hainan Island,  covers an area of one hundred hectares,  the mountain cave size innumerable,  rock climb,  scrub,  into the shadow of trees,  four seasons flower fragrance.  The monkey is naughty and love to play there,  and then a small monkey and I together as two phase,  I touched the little monkey,  little monkey frighten turned around in my head,  and scared I’m trembling with angers. Let me even more unexpected,  I met a This time I travel is hainan, as far as I know,  the place of the fou boy here. He is an American boy,   because he likes to travel,  came to hainan. His last basketball match was undoubted great. No one likes failure, especially successive ones. While for Sun, it’s no doubt that he has become a legend in Journalism Institution history not because his amazing performance and leadership in the team, but also the unbelievable “self-changing” in his last 4 years college life.

At April 4^th, this year‘s School Basketball Championship started with many people’s craziness and enthusiasm，Journalism, last year‘s champion, showed great passion and competence in their first match against team Universal Culture Communication in a big margin. Sun Xuning, captain of Journalism, scored 21 points in this match, surely the highest and best performance above all, which was definitely usual compared with last year.

Things went steep after first match. Everyone had not imagined the situation changing so sharply that it gave no more time for them to scrutinize whether they had lost something.

It surely belongs to the absence of Sun, though his teammates had dedicated their whole personal power to attain the victory of the later 2 matches which sadly turned out to be lost in a row. Sun is in grade 4 and have to pre-find a job which meant he had no time and energy to lead the basketball team and play with his great teammates again. However, Sun made the decision, coming back to school and play the first match for his team.

“I merely go outside for anything before college. When I’m in grade 1, I nearly weighed 100 kg, a typical big fat guy. I decided to change immediately, or I would have no chance, no time and no passion when I go into higher grades”, said Sun. “He has no other hobbies except basketball, so, with no hesitation, he just take a ball and go directly to courts and play until after dusk”, teammate Tao Guilong said. “We’re all proud of him seeing him successfully lost weight and changed to be a 80 kg ,pretty strong guy!” said scoring guard Zhu Yanchao.

“If we believe in what we do, then there’s no big deal to be afraid about”, said Tang Xiaobo, vice-captain of Journalism team, when asked about the prospect in this year’s School Cup basketball game.

“Actually we are still competitive even without Sun”,center-forward Cheng Yi showed a big confidence facing the absence of the one who used to lead them to win the final champion last year.

On the other side, Sun has a more different opinion, “I don’t think it’s the most important to win a certain championship or to show people that we are always the NO.1 team and unbeatable, in my view, playing basketball brings more than victory and failure, and personally speaking, more than losing weight to 80 kg  . Communicating and working with a couple of interesting guys shows me what basketball, even sports, means to us modern college folks.”

 

 

Growing up in the UK you can’t avoid eating this very traditional meal made from sausages, mashed potato and onion gravy. In the popular imagination it was so important that Desperate Dan, a comic book character from my childhood, always finished each story with a large plate of Bangers & Mash.

Often eaten with peas or even baked beans this meal has to be a staple for food for the English. Even if your mother never cooked it certainly you would find this food on any cafe or pub menu. Where ever you eat it though, you need mustard preferably hot English mustard though the milder German or French will do at a push.

The term “bangers” apparently comes from before World War II and may even go as far back as 1919. It seems that back then there was a food shortage due to the war and sausages were made with water. Consequently, if you cooked them they were likely to explode like a firework. Thankfully modern sausages don’t do this.

In 1961 film stars Peter Sellers and Sophie Loren recorded a song praising this so British food singing “No wonder you’re so bony Joe, and skinny as a rake. Well then, give us a bash at the bangers and mash me mother used to make”. So how can you make this dish? Well its very simple and all you have to do is follow the instructions below. It’s also very cheap and takes around 20 minutes!

What you need:

• Sausages
• Potatoes
• Peas
• Onions
• Milk
• Butter
• Black Pepper
• Instant Gravy

What you need to do:

1. Peel and boil the potatoes, when they are soft mash them to a smooth paste adding milk, butter and black pepper.
2. Make up the instant gravy by adding boiling water to a few spoonfuls of gravy mix.
3. Fry the onions in a pan and add the sausages. Cook till brown and the onions are golden. Then pour over the gravy and let it simmer.
4. Boil a pan of water and add the peas. When they are cooked drain them and they are ready to serve.

Serve on a plate nice and hot and indulge in what can only be described as ‘comfort food’ and imagine you are back in Blighty (a nickname for England) eating in a local cafe, at home eating your mothers cooking or even better – at school eating in the canteen. The better the sausages the better the taste of the meal so try and get some good ones.
