When I first heard the name of Vatican, it must be in the Japanese Comic. Because there are many fantastic elements in the animation creations which referred to religions that grew up in Vatican prosperously. After that, I get a little information about Vatican from our geographical books that it’s the smallest country around the world for its territorial area which is only 0.44 sq. km.

In order to be more close to the comic world, I become interested in this mysterious country. Let’s view Vatican at once!

The Vatican is a city full of artistic breath and religious, although the Vatican in geography is a small country, but due to the Catholic faith population in the whole world, in the political and cultural and other fields ,it has a worldwide influence.

If you want to travel Vatican, never miss the St. Peter’s Basilica regarded as one of the holiest Catholic sites. Both the appearance and history of St Peter’s make it worth visiting. One observer wrote: “St Peter’s Basilica is the reason why Rome is still the center the civilized world. For religious, historical, and architectural reasons it by itself justifies a journey to Rome, and its interior offers a palimpsest of artistic styles at their best…” The basilica is cruciform in shape, with an elongated nave in the Latin cross form .The entire interior of St. Peter’s is lavishly decorated with marble, reliefs, architectural sculpture and gilding . It is the most prominent building in the Vatican City. Its dome is a dominant feature of the skyline of Rome. In terms of history, It used to be a Saint Peter’s burial site, then became Old St. Peter’s Basilica, and by the end of the 15th century, it was planned to be rebuilt. The American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson described St. Peter’s as “an ornament of the earth … the sublime of the beautiful.” We can get a glimpse of the country from the quotes by famous people.

After admiring the St. Peter’s Basilica, we can move to the St. Peter’s Square which is also the most famous and biggest square in Rome. It is a massive plaza located directly in front of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City, At the center the square is a four-thousand-year-old Egyptian obelisk, erected at the current site in 1568. Gian Lorenzo Bernini designed the square almost 100 years later, including the massive Tuscan colonnades, four columns deep, which embrace visitors in “the maternal arms of Mother Church.” A granite fountain constructed by Bernini in 1675 matches another fountain designed by Carlo Maderno dating to 1613.Each statue in the square is lifelike.

The people who had watched “angels & demons” may feel a lot about Vatican, I am not the exception ,too. The most memorable scene for me in the movie is, the bishop of a pile of old man during a papal conclave are stuck together. Law: this is the Vatican during a papal conclave, so the election of personnel must be locked in isolated rooms, until the new Pope elected can they leave. Recently that vote a Pope is in March last year, Benedict xvi decided to resign due to old age and healthy relationship, becoming the first 600 years died not from dismissal of the Pope. All in all, when you arrive in Vatican, welcome to feel the special humanities atmosphere there.

With urban development, people’s living pressures are larger, bustling, noisy dry at the same time, I think we need more quiet, thinking and released. So I yearn for Tibet. it is the largest province in China, the roof of the world.is located in the southwest of P.R.C.,blessed with spectacular sceneries and its distinguished beautiful culture.

The football team of Journalism Institution hasn’t faced such difficult situation ever. When May arrives, the team are still suffering a great shortage of new members, which makes this year’s School Cup matches not so easy for them to play. But they always hold a faith that they’re never alone.

In this year’s School Cup, journalism football team has got one game win after one lose, they still just have a no more than 20 players involved but they’re clearly positive and ambitious to strike forward like they always believes: they’re alone.

As usual, the Journalism team should have at least 40 players training and playing football together, while last term, they had just got 4 new members in grade 1. Now the total number of players in the team is just less than 20.

“We should have been stronger if we have recruited more,” said Jia Jiale, goalkeeper who also plays for the school team. In most people’s eyes, journalism is never supposed to be a team that seems to have that tough situation.

“I remember the first year I got into this football team, there were almost 50 people in total! In those years, it’s even pretty difficult to divide fairly sides when we kick off in training,” said Zhou Yutong, the only grade 4 member in the team.

Why appears this situation? Some players thinks it is because it has been more and more difficult for middle school students who wants to enter our institution. It’s   true that the entering scoring limitation has been adding up year by year, “for a school that focuses and is famous for art and journalism, higher entering scoring limitation means boy students will have less interests and possibility to consider going to this college after their entrance examination. “The next year may be harder for the team if we still fail to get more ‘fresh blood’, so in my best wishes, I’d like to see some changes in the further,” said Zhang Ze, grade 3, center guard.

That is just not big deal, however, in some big guy’s mind. Jiao zi (Chinese Dumpling) is one of the most widely love food in china. Every family in China eat dumplings almost every day of the Spring Festival. It represent the auspicious and reunion. The shape of Chinese dumpling is similar to ancient Chinese gold or silver ingots, they symbolize wealth. Chinese dumpling is very delicious. You can make a variety of Chinese dumplings using different filling based on your taste and how various ingredients mixed together by you. Tangyuan is the traditional food for the Lantern Festival or Yuanxiao Festival. The small dumpling balls are usually made of glutinous rice flour.
We call these balls yuanxiao or tangyuan. Obviously, they get the name from the festival itself. Made of sticky rice flour filled with sweet stuffing and round in shape, it symbolizes family unity, completeness and happiness.
The fillings inside the dumplings or yuanxiao are either sweet or salty. Sweet fillings are made of sugar, Walnuts, sesame, osmanthus flowers, rose petals, sweetened tangerine peel, bean paste, or jujube paste. A single ingredient or any combination can be used as the filling. The salty variety is filled with minced meat, vegetables or a mixture.
The way to make yuanxiao also varied between northern and southern China. The usual method followed in southern provinces is to shape the dough of rice flour into balls, make a hole, insert the filling, then close the hole and smooth out the dumpling by rolling it between your hands. In North China, sweet or non-meat stuffing is the usual ingredient. The fillings are pressed into hardened cores, dipped lightly in water and rolled in a flat basket containing dry glutinous rice flour. A layer of the flour sticks to the filling, which is then again dipped in water and rolled a second time in the rice flour. And so it goes, like rolling a snowball, until the dumpling is the desired size.

Zongzi is the festive food traditionally served during Dragon Boat Festival celebrations.
During the Duanwu Festival, a glutinous rice pudding called zongzi is eaten to symbolize the rice offerings to Qu. Ingredients such as beans, lotus seeds, chestnuts, pork fat and the golden yolk of a salted duck egg are often added to the glutinous rice. 1. Xianghu Station: You can take subway to this station, and go to Xiang Lake, which is called West Lake’s sisters lake. West Lake is more in water, while water, mountains, trees and bridges collocated together in Xiang Lake. Nothing would be better than it. You can walk, or take a bicycle, along the road, the road is not wide, and with lake on the left and mountains on the right. Just wander, maybe you will come across a bridge, or slide into a side path, and to find a new view, like a surprise. Nothing would be better. Compared with West Lake, Xiang Lake is more crude and natural, and is quieter. You can also go to amusement park, such as Hangzhou amusement park or Hangzhou World Leisure Expo Garden. They are close in that area. The gardens are so big that you can play in it whole day long.

Fee: Xiang Lake, good things are free, it’s no entrance tickets.

Route: To Xianghu, you can take bus No.344 to Yuefenglou Station or No.405 to Yaoliwu Station and walk for a while. To Hangzhou World Leisure Expo Garden, you can take bus No.714 to Xishan tunnel station.

 

2. Xixing Station: It’s near the Xixing Ancient Town. Just as many ancient towns, Xixing Ancient Towns has wonderful old buildings and a specific atmosphere, but it was more quiet and pure. What’s more, this town is the end of The Grand Canal from Beijing to Hangzhou, it bear too much weight of Hangzhou’s history.

Fee: it’s no entrance tickets.

Route: After you get out of the metro station, you are in the town.

 

3. Ding’ an Station& Longxiangqiao Station: Shopping, shopping, and shopping! You will find this theme after you get out to the ground. It’s a good place to go shopping. There are many shopping malls such as Intime department store, Jiebai commercial and other shops. You can shop there as you want. Another choice is Hefang Street, it has different shopping experience from above. In the evening, it’s a good idea to hang about the Wushan night market. Except shopping, you can visit Fenghuang Temple. What’s more, Longxiang Bridge Station is not far from the West Lake, you can go to the west lake in few minutes.

 

4. West Lake Culture Square Station: Near the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, there located the West Lake Culture Square. The square is circular, in the middle is opening, half of it is around by the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. In a bridge on the Grand Canal, there was an amazing sculpture. The sculpture is long and is lied on the ground, be carved with a long groove, it’s obvious that the grove shape the shape of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The groove is not simple, in the groove it can be seen the typical scenery of the canal’s bank from Hangzhou to Beijing. It’s elaborate so it may catch your eyes. If visit museums are high on your agenda, you can’t miss it. On one side of a narrow road, the word LINPING PARK is not conspicuous, as there grows trees around. Walk up the footstep that behind the trees, and you will see an open lawn suddenly. The melody of absolute music flows with every step of your foot. Because many voice boxes disturbuted in plants all around the park. Not only the music played, you can also hear the voice of nature, for example, the birds singing, or the leaves in trees making sounds when winds blowing. The most impressing thing is that trees with its branches and leaves separate the sky from you, that means you look up and you will see trees but not directly sky when you are walking in the paths. Sometimes you are in a piece of lawn, it’s like a green cloud move away and you can see the sky. If you back to walk in the paths, you are under the green cloud again, which is full of the smell of nature. You also can find joy in Jiangnan Culture Museum, getting knowledge of jiangnan culture.

There’s no doubt that Hangzhou is an incredibly beautiful city, yet the idea that one’s hometown is always the best place in the world perhaps has deeply rooted in our mind. Though it may seem kind of strange to foreigners, that’s what happens in China.

Brought up in a small county where sweet potatoes are grown here and there, I have got used to having sweet potato congee as breakfast since I’m a little child, but I would never believe this simple snack could mean that much to me before leaving my hometown for the campus I’m in now.

Attending college took me to a brand new journey compared to my past 18 years, and so does everybody else I suppose, which filled my life with a lot of exciting experiences at first, while as time flies, the thrilled feelings died away and homesickness began haunting and took up my heart.

Hence, whenever coming across some food relating to sweet potatoes, I would seize the opportunity to taste those snacks represented by my hometown. Now I’m going to tell you an interesting anecdote about it.

The other day I came across a bowl of sweet potato congee in a small restaurant of Xiasha(there’s a fantastic picture above demonstrating it); what’s dramatic is that I was recalled of my sweet memory at home immediately, to illustrate, I seemingly saw the scene of my warm-hearted grandma offering others with hot congees and preparing delicacies for me as well, which was actually the waitress handing out dishes and serving the customers around, then something awkward happened when I called out my little brother’s nickname loudly, due to the thought that I’m already at home. Of course everybody stopped to watch me as if I was nuts, which drove me blush at once.

Anyway, these special experiences did not get me out of sweet potatoes, if any, even added to my love of them for restoring those sweet old days to me. Therefore, it’s natural to draw the conclusion that sweet potatoes have become my sweetheart in reality.

Meanwhile, the main purpose of my writing this article is to call for your attention on the tremendous benefits that eating sweet potatoes will bring, because not only can it provide us with various nutrition, but arouse our appetite by its attractive appearance. Besides simple starches, raw sweet potatoes are rich in complex carbohydrates, dietary fiber and beta-carotene, while having moderate contents of other micronutrients, including vitamin B5, vitamin B6, and the like.
